Recipes

• Fujifilm recipes keep the Color Temperature value: pick Color Temperature and a Kelvin field appears, from 2500K to 10000K. Type the value, or step it 10K at a time like the camera dial.
• A recipe created from a photo shot in Kelvin white balance takes the temperature from the photo.
• The Kelvin value shows on recipe pages, share cards and in Compare.
• Recipes saved before this update show the Kelvin field as Not set: open the recipe and add the value.
• Ricoh's Kelvin field takes a typed value too.

iPhone and iPad

• Zoom into a photo in the iPhone preview: pinch, or double-tap where you want a closer look, and double-tap again for the whole photo. Zoomed in, it fills the screen and loads in more detail.
• A zoomed photo glides on after a flick and springs back at its edges, in the editor and the iPhone preview.
• Swipes page as fast as you flick, in the editor and the photo preview: the next swipe no longer waits for the last photo to land.
• On iPhone, pull a photo down to close it: it follows your finger from the first move, an upward flick cancels, and on release it flies back to its place in the grid.
• Stars are one control: press to see a rating, slide to change it, let go to set it.
• The next photo shows at once and sharpens as it loads.
• Buttons and controls on iPhone and iPad are finger-sized, and text follows Apple's iPhone sizes.
• The Library grid keeps its place when you switch to the editor and back.
• Editor sliders move the moment your finger does; a double-tap still resets.
• On iPad, a tap on a grid photo selects it at once, and a double-tap opens it in the editor.
• On iPad, a drag up or down over a slider, or over the tone curve away from its points, scrolls the panel instead of changing the value.
• On iPad, a pinch never switches photos in the full screen preview or in compare.
• Holding a photo to see the original gives a light tap as it switches.
• Heal strokes start exactly where your finger lands.
• In Select, a sideways drag starts picking at the photo under your finger.
• With Reduce Motion on, the move to the next photo after a rating or a sort cuts instead of sliding.

Recipes

• On iPhone, a recipe's photos fill the width, sized by the photos themselves: a portrait photo is a third taller and wider than before, a landscape-only recipe gets a short band with no bars, and every photo of a recipe shares one height, so nothing jumps on a swipe.
• Tap a recipe photo to see it full screen: swipe between the photos, pinch or double-tap to zoom, swipe down or tap Close to leave. Full screen also shows the SHOT ON line, camera, lens and exposure, which the iPhone never showed before.
• Pull the recipe page down past its top and the photo stretches, then springs back (iOS 18 and later).
• On iPhone, Compare and Share sit under the author, not a screen and a half down the page.
• On iPad in portrait, a recipe is one scrolling page: the photo, its thumbnails, then the settings and the similar recipes side by side at full length, instead of two short boxes scrolling on their own.
• On iPad in landscape, the photo slides with your finger, and a tap opens it full screen instead of showing the SHOT ON line, which a pointer's hover still shows.
• On iPhone, a recipe with nothing similar says "No similar recipes yet" instead of ending blank.

Interface

• VoiceOver names each Light slider, Exposure through Vibrance, instead of reading "Slider".
• New icons, drawn to match the rest of Jepex, replace the system ones that stood in: the Ricoh recipe settings, the crop lock, play and pause, and the status marks.
• The app is 16.7 MB smaller.

iPhone and iPad

• The Library's plus opens a menu with both sources: a folder from Files, or an album from Apple Photos. Inside Apple Photos, the Add Album row shows only until the first album is added.
• Videos open in the editor: the clip plays, Rotate turns it a quarter turn left or right, and Export Video hands it to the share sheet. An untouched clip goes out as it is; a turned clip keeps its original quality.
• Offer codes redeemed in the App Store before you sign in reach your account: Jepex Pro turns on when you sign in, or when you tap Restore Purchases.
• Filters redraw the Library grid straight away, instead of leaving it blank until the next touch.
• In Select, a sideways drag across cells picks a run of photos, and the grid still scrolls.
• A rightward drag pages back to the previous photo; a swipe from the screen edge returns to the grid.
• On iPhone, the recipe hero settles on a photo instead of stopping halfway between two.
• On iPhone, Info pulls up to full height, and a long list of camera settings scrolls inside it.
• Saving to Files ends in a dialog naming what landed and where.
• Touch targets: sign-in fields, buttons and the X that closes a sheet are finger-sized.
• The iPad shows sign-in and the paywall on a card, the way the Mac does.
• Onboarding plays a short clip of the Library, the editor and Recipes.
• On iPhone, the Library grid runs nearly edge to edge, so the screen shows more photo.
• Hold a folder to move it, or to split it into subfolders by date, as on the Mac.

• Saving a clip reports it as a video: "Saved 1 photo and 2 videos", not three photos.
• Touch and hold the photo in the editor to see the original; let go and the edits come back. Not on Crop and Heal, where the touch is the tool.
• Hold a photo in the Library for its menu: Select, Rename, Duplicate to, Move to, Export, Download from Cloud, Delete. Over Apple Photos: Select and Delete from Apple Photos. In Select, Export also offers Duplicate and Move for everything picked.
• A tip points at holding the photo to see the original once you have made an edit; it retires the first time you do.

Apple Photos

• An edited photo looks edited everywhere: the grid, the preview, and the next photo you swipe to in the editor.
• The Previews switch (With edits / Originals) covers Apple Photos now, like folders.

Library

• Every edit reaches disk. An edit that left the edits file the same size, a clip turned a second quarter turn or an exposure nudged on an already edited photo, showed in the session and was gone at the next launch.
• Moving or duplicating a photo that cannot be taken, one still in the cloud or bound for a folder that refuses the write, says so instead of failing quietly.

Save and export

• Export Card is part of Jepex Pro, like Save and Export. Sharing a recipe card from Recipes stays free.
• On the Mac, the save alert counts videos as videos: "Saved 2 images and 1 video".

Account

• Continue with Apple and Continue with Google sit on white buttons, and Return submits the form.

Interface

• The last onboarding step shows what a pending edit looks like and names the four ways to save: Save as Copies, Overwrite Originals, Save to Photos, Export.
• A tip appears when the first folder is added, on every platform: no import, no catalog, photos stay where they are.

Pricing

• Jepex Pro is €49.99 a year or €9.99 a month for new subscribers. Existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at for as long as they stay subscribed.
• The paywall leads with the yearly amount; the per-month equivalent and the saving sit under it.

Apple Photos

• Edits on Apple Photos assets persist like folder edits: each stays with its photo across launches and shows in the grid, and Save to Photos commits every pending one into the JEPEX Edits album at once.
• Switching photos or closing a Photos session no longer warns about unsaved edits.

Library

• Thumbnails survive a folder switch: returning to a folder no longer decodes its whole grid again.
• Fast scrolling no longer decodes the same photo twice.
• A thumbnail file cut short by a crash or a full disk is repaired instead of drawing a grey block.
• Clearing ratings on a read-only card reports the failed save instead of bringing the ratings back on the next load.
• Copy Edits and Paste Edits are off while the Photos grid shows, instead of acting on the hidden folder selection.
• The bottom bar's photo count stays clear of the filter button in a narrow gallery.

Editor and recipes

• The Templates panel has no Apply: cards are a try-on the canvas, and the Export menu's card row renders the one on screen.
• Exporting a recipe card reopens the folder the last card went to, not always Pictures.
• Create Recipe panels and the top bars follow the design: pill pickers for camera and visibility, one userpic style everywhere.
• Alerts, the analytics consent ask included, share one design on Mac, iPhone and iPad.

Library

• A folder on an unplugged drive shows once in the sidebar. A folder bookmarked at two mount paths over the years, "Drive" and then "Drive 1", showed twice as OFFLINE.
• Offline folders come back the moment their drive is plugged in. They used to stay OFFLINE until you clicked each row or relaunched.

Develop

• Develop RAW files in the editor: exposure, white balance, shadows, noise reduction, sharpness, local tone mapping. Hold M to see the shot as taken.
• Save JPEG writes the developed photo next to the RAW and opens it with every tool: crop, light, color, effects, heal, borders.
• Develop takes DNG, uncompressed RAF, and the RAW formats macOS itself opens. Compressed RAF can't be developed yet: the Fujifilm Camera engine is coming soon.
• Recipes and Info read a RAF the way they read its JPEG: shooting info, film simulation, and the recipe behind the shot.
• Every tool tab stays clickable on a RAW. Info, Develop and Recipes work; the other tools point you to Develop first. Develop sits after Light in the rail, on the D key.

Editor

• LUTs join the Light panel: import .cube files, pick one from the dropdown or drop it onto the panel, and set the amount. A LUT travels with the edit like any slider: undo, Copy Edits, thumbnails, batch saves.
• Borders and templates are edits now. Apply in the panel assigns one to the photo; it shows in every preview and saves with the rest of the pending edits, in batches too. A template's card lands as a second file next to the photo.
• Heal keeps the colors of Display P3 and Adobe RGB photos. It used to shift the whole photo, not just the spot.
• Saves keep the in-camera rating, keywords and captions through any edit. Only crop-only saves kept them before.
• Crop moves second in the tool rail, right after Info; Recipes moves last.
• Undo and Redo in the Edit menu work now.
• Custom card colors stay yours: opening a photo with a card in another color no longer overwrites the saved one.

Save and export

• Apply Edits is now Save. The pill's menu saves pending edits over the originals or as copies next to them; Export writes new files to a folder you pick.
• Export names the files: original names, or a custom name with a numbered sequence, in the order you set. Quality goes up to Maximum (98), and an untouched photo at Original size and Maximum quality copies as it is.
• Videos export too. Untouched clips copy as they are; a trimmed or rotated clip keeps its original quality.
• Export Card and Export with Border render what is on the canvas, one photo at a time, without assigning anything. Export with Border keeps the shot's camera settings.
• Save to Photos asks where the results land, with a Don't show this again option. It used to ask every time.
• Previews switch between With edits and Originals in the filter popover, for the grid, the preview panel and the filmstrip at once.

Library

• Space opens a full screen preview; Enter and double-click still open the editor. Click or Z toggles 100%, scroll pans, pinch zooms, and the zoom holds while you arrow through a burst.
• Compare (C) puts two photos side by side with linked zoom: the keeper pinned on the left, candidates paging on the right. Rate and flag each pane; the center button swaps them.
• Auto-advance: rating or flagging in the preview moves to the next photo. Toggle it in the bottom bar.
• G returns to the grid, and the View menu carries all three modes.
• Open With on the right-click menu hands a photo, or a selection, to any installed app that opens those files. RAW and video too.
• Folders get Move to in their right-click menu.
• WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP show in the library with a format badge: rate, flag, filter, sort and move them like HEIC and PNG. Editing stays JPEG.
• Paste Edits lands only on JPEGs. A HEIC or PNG could take an edit before, and saving wrote JPEG data under the original name.
• Ratings that can't be saved say so. Culling into a locked card or a read-only share used to lose the session silently; now one alert names the folder.
• Sources on an unplugged drive or an unmounted share stay in the sidebar as offline rows with Reconnect and Remove, and launch no longer waits on them.
• Stalled drives and cloud folders stop spinning after 30 seconds and read as offline; the rest of the library keeps working.
• Sorting inside an iCloud Drive folder no longer freezes the app while iCloud syncs.
• Download from Cloud is always available and says when there is nothing to download.
• Paging back to a recent photo no longer re-decodes it.

Recipes

• Creating a recipe from a photo tells you when a setting has no recipe option, White Balance (Flash) for one, instead of dropping it silently.
• White balance labels match the Fujifilm menu: Shade, Fluorescent Light-1 to 3, Auto White Priority. A Kelvin shot reads as Color Temperature, on Ricoh too.
• Fujifilm sharpness reads correctly at the strong settings; a shot at -3 or +3 showed as -4 or +4.
• Monotone shots from older GR and Pentax bodies read as Monotone, so the prefill keeps them.
• Older Fujifilm bodies show their real picture in the profile and the Add Camera picker: X-E1, X-E2, X-E2S, X-H1, X-T1, X-T2, X-T20. The X-T10 can be picked now.
• Long recipe descriptions end with an ellipsis on share cards instead of running over the footer.

Interface

• Every menu, dropdown and dialog shares one look now: the same card, corners and spacing everywhere.

Account

• Launching offline keeps Jepex Pro, your avatar, name and cameras.

Stability

• Failure alerts name what failed: Couldn't create folder, Couldn't move to Trash, Couldn't export, and so on.
• Saves after an interrupted batch start fresh; Resume is what the Resume button does. The interrupted prompt shows reliably, and never for a batch that finished.
• Stop works on an export whose destination folder stopped answering, and pressing Save no longer freezes the app on a slow volume.
• Saving to a read-only destination refuses once, upfront, instead of failing file by file.
• Deleting, renaming or moving a folder refuses when its ratings can't be saved first.
• Ratings are read and written in the background, so switching folders never waits on disk.
• Picking photos for a card stays fast in folders with thousands of photos.
• Live recipe and favorite updates recover after a dropped connection.

Editor

• Tone sliders now change brightness, not color: darkening Highlights on a seascape darkens the water instead of turning it patchy lavender.
• Highlights and Shadows no longer move pure white and pure black. Those belong to Whites and Blacks.
• Extreme slider combinations no longer flatten a tonal range into one flat tone.
• Color Mixer Saturation and Luminance now work on pale colors, so a washed-out sky responds to the blue sliders.
• Tint now matches other editors: positive is magenta, negative is green.
• Pending edits made with these sliders re-render with the fixes, so a photo you edited earlier can look slightly different now.

Culling

• Filters stay on when you switch folders, so a picks-only pass carries through the whole shoot.
• When a flag or rating drops a photo out of the filter, the next photo is selected for you, in the grid and in the editor.
• X rejects everywhere, including the crop tool.
• Cmd+Z undoes flags and ratings; Cmd+Shift+Z brings them back.

Library

• Renaming a folder or photo focuses the field right away, with the name selected.
• Returning from the editor lands where you left: the grid and the folder list scroll back to your photo.
• Deleting a folder counts the photos in every subfolder, and warns when iCloud may still be syncing a subfolder you just moved out.
• Split by Date no longer separates RAW+JPEG pairs and their companion files when names collide.

Editor

• Pinch to zoom works in every tool now, Heal included.
• Tool cursors stay on the photo; the pointer returns to normal over panels and buttons.
• On macOS 14, Heal shows one pointer, not two.
• Saving an edited HEIC or PNG keeps the shot's camera settings and capture date.

Video

• Rotating or trimming a clip keeps everything else: shooting info, the shoot date, and its place when sorted by date.
• Rotated clips show the right orientation, and thumbnails preview a pending rotation.

Recipes

• Photos with no recipe data no longer read as a grain-only recipe.

Privacy

• The analytics opt-in wording now matches the privacy policy.

Library

• Import from Card: copy photos and video straight off SD cards and drives. It finds Sony video that Image Capture misses, skips in-camera proxies, and verifies each copy before you clear the card.
• Add Apple Photos albums one at a time, instead of loading your whole library at once. All Photos is one of the choices.
• Sony video sidecars travel with their clips when you move, copy, duplicate, rename, or delete.
• Copy Path is now in the folder and photo right-click menus.

Editor

• Space plays and pauses a video.

• Jepex supports macOS 14 (Sonoma) again, so Sonoma Macs get everything in 1.7. One difference there: the pointer keeps its standard arrow shape.

• Minor cleanup in Account settings.

Editor

• Color Mixer: tune hue, saturation, and brightness for each color band.
• Tone curves gain separate red, green, and blue channels.
• Film grain is rebuilt to render the way pro editors do.
• Heal shows its progress, keeps the brush where you put it, and fills difficult spots more reliably. Its result now lands on the cropped photo.
• Crop handles respond predictably at every zoom level.
• Switching to the editor opens the photo you had selected in the Library, including Apple Photos and HEIC shots.

Onboarding & sign-in

• jepex no longer opens with a login wall. The Library, editor, and recipe browsing all work without an account, so the app opens straight to your photos. You're asked to sign in only where it genuinely needs an account: your profile, favoriting a recipe, creating a recipe from a photo, and the Favourites and My Recipes tabs.
• When sign-in is needed it appears as a card over the app, not a full-screen takeover. Dismiss it by tapping outside, the close button, or Esc, and it resumes whatever you were doing once you're in.
• New: a first-launch welcome tour introduces the Library, the editor, Recipes, and how your files stay on your Mac. Reopen it any time from Help > "Welcome to Jepex."
• The empty Library now makes clear your photos never leave your Mac.

Recipes

• Recipe matching now has a free taste: open a Fujifilm or Ricoh photo and the matcher reveals your ranked matches free for your first three folders, no account or subscription needed. The matcher shows how many free matches you have left; after that, matching is part of the Studio plan.
• The paywall is simpler and clearer: two cards (Free and Studio) with sharper, benefit-led copy.

Polish

• The About box now shows the app's copyright instead of being blank.
• "Lossless" wording is now reserved for cropping (which is genuinely lossless); tonal edits re-encode, so the copy no longer overclaims.
• Refreshed paywall and various interface strings to match the website, with cleaner punctuation throughout.
• Tapping "Not now" on the optional analytics prompt now means "ask me later," not a permanent no, so a reflexive first dismissal no longer opts you out for good.

Editor

• New Color Grading controls in the Light tab tint shadows, midtones, and highlights independently — cool the shadows, warm the highlights, or build a split-tone look as a finishing pass.
• The crop tool now shows your exact cropped result — pixel-identical to what you'll save — on every tab, with no stray skew, banding, or leftover edges when you zoom out. Press Return to switch between previewing the crop and editing it.
• Heal edits stay visible as you move between the Light, Crop, and Effects tabs, instead of showing only on the Heal tab.
• On macOS Sonoma, you can type values into the Light, Color, and zoom fields again.
• Opening a photo in the editor while a batch Apply is still rewriting it is now prevented, so edits can't be silently applied twice.

Library

• Switching photos in the preview panel is instant — the cached thumbnail appears immediately and sharpens to full resolution, instead of a blank spinner on every switch.
• "Download from iCloud" is now "Download from Cloud," since it also works with Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

Recipes

• Creating and publishing your own recipes is now free and unlimited. Favorites stays a Recipes-plan feature (3 free, unlimited on paid plans).
• When adding photos to a recipe, the library picker offers the same rating and flag filters you use in the gallery and editor.
• Recipe thumbnails stay visible after the app frees memory, instead of dropping to a gray placeholder.
• The brand, visibility, and "Shot on" chips on recipe photos now share one consistent style.

Export templates

• Your selected template now sticks as you move between photos and switch modes.
• Slots auto-fill with the next photo that matches each frame's orientation, and you can filter the slot picker by your current rating and flag filter.
• Slightly tighter overlays on the film-roll and camera-collage layouts.

Account

• Account wording now matches the two paid tiers (Recipes and Studio): the upgrade button reads "Upgrade" and opens the full plan picker.

Stability

• The main window no longer opens tiny after an app update — it restores to a proper size.
• Playing a video from the library no longer crashes, and the scrubber no longer snaps back when you release it.

Editor

• Light sliders (Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks) now respond naturally — a small adjustment stays subtle instead of crushing the whole image.
